Flour Glue
- 1 cup plain flour
- 1 cup water
- Optional: a pinch of salt to prevent mould
- Mix in a saucepan over low heat until thick. Cool before use.
Best for: paper crafts, cardboard, lightweight projects.
Cornstarch Glue
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 cup cold water
- 1/4 cup boiling water
- Mix cold water with cornstarch, then add boiling water and heat until thick. Cool before use.
Best for: paper crafts, posters, light decoupage.
Casein Glue (Milk-Based)
- 1 cup skim milk
- 1 tbsp vinegar or lemon juice
- 1 tsp baking soda
- Heat milk gently to warm, add vinegar to curdle, strain curds. Mix curds with baking soda to form a paste.
Best for: woodworking, paper-mâché, stronger craft bonds.
Gelatin Glue
- 2 tsp unflavoured gelatin
- 3 tbsp cold water
- 2 tbsp boiling water
- Dissolve gelatin in cold water, then stir in boiling water until clear. Cool slightly before using.
Best for: paper crafts, bookbinding, temporary bonds.
